Trunk and springs

The time since February I have spent working with the trunk .The plywood pieces has been glued together. All the wood has become a layer of varnish. The outside has fabric been fastned. The most of the aluminium trim are nailed in place .The small hatch has a little “wood fantasy” being made. Some work is still needed before it is finished.
The rear leafs is back from the shop that helped me hardened them. After that I was forced to make new clamps and bushings. The springs have I attached to the frame and rear axel.

Already November

It is already November when I am writing this.
Under October I began within making new outside handles. I made a tool to press the handle skin, but after making some (many) testing I decided to take the old ones and make only one new. That was after many ,many hours of testing.
Made new glass settingchannels for all windows. Fitted the front window with all mechanisms. That one is ready for paint, rubber and glass.
Delivered the front axel to Sören so he could help with the the spindles, bolts and bushings. The bearings has arrived.
Mounted the front springs with there shackles in the frame.
Thefloor in the rear under the seat has been mounted and welded in place and finally got an layer of paint over it.
The wooden floor in the rear and thetoe boards is just what I being working with now. When getting it fit proper I also fitted the steering column and the flywheel house with pedals to see how it would work with the toe board. In the same time I also working with thefront seat and the mechanisms that moves the seat .Sandblasting, painting fitting and threading the holes.
I shall say -Thank You to Mike Barbour who is helping me with measures for the front seat and the rear bumper. The last one is handed over to on helping hand who would bend and curve the irons.
The radiator shell and the head lamps is shipped from US to Sweden and would perhaps arrive November or December.

This month I have cut the the leafs to the rear springs. The leaf package I left to a person that can help me to get the right curve and the eyes for the spring bolts on the main leaf.
The front fenders mountings in the spare wheels trunk where new plates made and even machined the rivets.
I have a helping hand to make a new gasoline tank.
A visit to Värnamo by Mats was ending with that I got the headlight bar with some rusty headlight and a couple of restorable rear fenders.
The rear axel is in progress. The pinion and Crown wheel was getting ahead by Greg at WOKR. He sent me some drawings for that purpose. John Stokes wrote from New Zeeland an e-mail. He wrote that International Trucks from 1936-41 has the same or interchangeable parts for the Willys8. Even the Borg-Wagner with no. WX2068-2069 was also a possibility.
The radiator shell was also taking a step forwards by some drawings and an ads in WOKR Newsletter .Which I am hopeful looking forward to get some answers from members.
The Engine restoration was in some progress also .I made new nuts in right size and hardened them also. All together 29 pieces I made two more then required
